World Food Day is observed on October 16, worldwide every year.
It was established in 1945 by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), a specialized agency of the United Nations.
The day is celebrated widely by many organizations including the World Food Program, the World Health Organization, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development with the aim of throwing light on the millions of people globally who lack the means to afford a nutritious diet.
World Food Day 2023 will focus on the theme, 'Water is Life, Water is Food'. The theme aims to highlight the critical role of water for life on earth and water as the foundation of our food.
